The Critical Frog's Favorite MLP Episodes- #2

(NOTE: Sorry everybody, My Little Pony month has been extended into My Little Pony summer. Sorry for the inconvienence. I was ata lot of areas with no internet and the got sick, so I had to lay off criticism for a bit. My apologies.)

#2: A Canterlot Wedding (Season 2)
--------------------------
Don't lie, everypony totally knew that this was going to be on the list. What everypony didn't expect, however, was probably the fact that this only takes second place. Don't freak out, there is a perfectly good reason for this that I'll explain when number 1 is revealed. But until then, just know that I love this episode.

In this episode, Twilight is invited to the wedding of her brother Shining Armor, and is surprised to see that his fiance (also Twilight's babysitter when she was younger) is acting a bit off. Twilight is the only one who does not regard this behavior as simple wedding anxiety, and as such goes to discover the truth. Eventually the true story behind Princess Miamore Cadenza (or Cadence) is uncovered, and while I'm trying not to give anything away, it leads to a climax of reveals, magic and danger for everyone.

This episode really works because of the atmosphere of the first segment compared to the second. What begins as an innocent wedding quickly spirals into an apocalyptic scenario that has the Mane 6 fighting for their lives against an entire army. The change works really well and not only ties the wedding story together, but gives us a great conclusion.

But, of course, the big thing people remember from this episode is the musical numbers. Each one ties in very well with the situation and are phenomenally written and sung ("This Day", the song of the bride, I mention n particular as being especially amazing). The episode generally shows everything that MLP does right, and only one episode does it better. Our #1, of course.
